Kidspace

We had a fun day at Kidspace with Grammie and Chelsea!  Kidspace has a huge room dedicated to bugs!!  There is a place for kids to paint, crawl in an “ant tunnel”, climb leaves like a bug, put bugs together, and so much more!  Even though it had stopped raining, there was a lot of water involved in our visit.  Chelsea ended the day soaked!  And Lila had a very dirty booty!  ;)  Emma had fun watching the big girls.  She was even able to get out  and crawl around in the baby room.  Here are some photos from our fun day:

Lila was very into building this track. She was proud! :)

Happy Holidays!

My new years resolution was to be a better blogger…I have failed so far!  Here I go again, playing catch up:

We had a wonderful holiday!!!!  Lila is at an age where she “gets” Christmas….Santa and all that goes along with him.  Jack the elf visited us this year.  Every morning when Lila would wake up, she’d look for Jack.  He was always in a different spot around the house.  At night, he would go back to the NorthPole and give Santa a report on Lila’s behavior.  Here is Jack!

When Lila first met Jack.

Our first holiday adventure was at the holiday stroll in the Hollywood Riviera.  We didn’t get any good shots from that night unfortunately.  We did, however, get some fun shots when we visited our local Candy Cane Lane:

Snowmen!

We had a fun day picking out our tree and decorating the house for Christmas!!!

We spent Christmas eve at Grammie and Papi’s house.  Papa was visiting from the Bay Area, Auntie, Uncle B-Rad and Chelsea were there.  Mama Buck and Emma went to church with Great Grandma and then we enjoyed a delicious dinner back at Grammie and Papi’s.  After dinner we opened our traditional gift of new pajamas! We then exchanged gifts with Auntie and Uncle B-Rad because we wouldn’t see them on Christmas.

Enjoying a yummy dinner!

New Christmas PJ's!

We went right to bed when we got home so that Santa could bring our presents!  Santa was so smart and decided to build our presents earlier that week.  Here’s what we woke up to Christmas morning!!!

Merry Christmas!

On Christmas day, Grammie and Papi and Cousin Bethie came over for brunch.  We opened presents and had a wonderful day!!

A note from Santa!

Lila got a new easel!

Mama got a new sewing machine!

We spent a quiet new year’s eve at home.  Big Daddy Buck made a delicious lobster tail dinner!!!  The girls had fun celebrating the east coast new year (well, Lila did.  Emma was passed out way before!)  Mama Buck and Big Daddy Buck watched the last Harry Potter (after a 3 day Harry Potter marathon!).  The movie ended right at 11:30, so we were able to countdown to 2012!

Happy New Year! Love, Lila

Our delicious dinner!

We rang in the new year at the happiest place in the world, Disneyland!!  We had a wonderful family day!!  And Mama Buck was much more relaxed because she had Daddy Buck’s help this time.  Here are some photos from our magical day:

4 Months Old . . .

. . . and some pictures from the past few months.  Miss Emma turned 4 months old on July 21.  She weighs in at 14 pounds, is 25.5 inches long and has a head circumference of 20.5 inches.  Her weight is in the 70th percentile, her head is in the 75h percentile and her height is in the 80th percentile.  Emma is a very mellow, easy going baby.  She started sucking her thumb, and now is able to self-soothe.  For mommy and daddy that is fantastic because it means she sleeps 12 hours straight at night!!!  She giggles and smiles and loves to watch and play with her big sister Lila.  Today, she rolled from her back to her tummy for the first time!!!  Here are some pictures of our 4 month old:

We’ve been super busy this summer with play time at the beach, in the pool, in San Diego, at Disneyland and even the Circus!  Here are some pictures from our fun summer so far:

I’ll leave you with one last precious picture of my girls.

To Pee, or Not to Pee . . .

. . . Lila has decided to PEE!!!  In the potty that is!  Three days ago, we decided to start wearing big girl underwears at home.  I put her little potty in front of the TV and we put on a movie (I believe it was Tangled).  Lila sat and sat and sat.  With a little hesitation, she finally peed in her potty!!!  She was so excited and couldn’t wait to pee again!  Yesterday, after a fun day of Disneyland, she came home and immediately POOPED on her potty!!  She stood up and said “Eww!  It’s gross!”  Yes, yes it it…  We are so proud of our Big Girl!!  Here are some pictures of her big accomplishment:

YAY! Going pee pee for the first time!

Mommy lesson learned:  Potty training is so much easier when you wait until they are ready.  We had tried back around Christmas, and Lila just wasn’t ready.  She very clearly is now and is so excited about it!

God Bless Emma Grace

Miss Emma was baptized this past Sunday!  Emma was baptized at St. Lawrence Martyr church in Redondo Beach.  Her Godparents are Auntie Alison and Uncle Matty.  Miss Emma wore the same dress that Miss Lila, Chelsea, myself and Auntie wore.  She “Christened” the dress, however, by going #2, very loudly, right when the Deacon started the service!  We did a quick change in the middle of the service.  After the baptism, we had our friends and family over to the house for a get together.  Miss Emma was given lots of love and some really nice gifts.  Thank you to all who shared in this special day with us!  Here are some pictures from the day:

Mama’s lesson learned:  When baby starts to suck her thumb, it’s time to stop swaddling at night!  Miss Emma found her thumb and is now able to soothe herself back to sleep!!!  We have enjoyed the past 5 nights of her sleeping 7 to 7!!!

Thanks for visiting!  XOXO

Emma is 3 months old!!!

It’s crazy how fast time is going.  Our baby girl is 3 months old already!  She weighs in at 12 lb 9 oz.  She giggles and smiles and loves to watch her big sister dance and sing.  Today, she sat in her Bumbo seat for the first time.  It’s amazing how strong she is and how she is able to hold her head up.  She’s attempting to roll from side to side, but not rolling over yet.  Here are the latest pictures of our big 3 month old:

Happy Birthday Chelsea Bug!!!

Chelsea turned 2 last weekend!  We celebrated by spending the day at Disneyland!!!  We had lunch at Ariel’s Grotto.  The girls met Ariel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Belle.  We had delicious food for lunch.  After lunch, we went on It’s A Small World, we played in Toon Town, rode the carousel and then headed over to the Rain Forest Cafe for dinner.  Here are some pics from our fun day:

In my 2+years of being a mommy, I have learned so much.  I thought I’d add a little something at the end of each post sharing the latest that I’ve learned from my two girls.

Mommy Lesson Learned:  Double . . .triple check the diaper size before you put it on your child.  A two year old does not wear the same size as a 2 month old.  A 2 month old diaper cannot hold the volume of pee that a 2 year old produces!  :)

Thanks for visiting!  XOXO

2 Months Old!!!

This post is loooong over due!  Miss Emma turned 2 months old on May 21st.  At her well baby check up, she weighed in at 11 lbs 7 oz and was 23 in. long. Her head circumference was 16 in.  Here is our precious 2 month old:

I'm 2 months old!

Miss Emma likes to coo and smile and she will often give us a little giggle.  She looooves her bath time too!  Lila likes to play with Emma on her playmat.  She also likes to read stories to her baby sister.  In her 2 months of life, Emma has been to Disneyland 3 times, multiple parks, the library, the beach, workout classes and she has even had her first sleep over at Grammie and Papi’s house.  It amazes me how different things are from when Lila was an infant.  We stayed at home and played on blankets and didn’t go out too much.  Poor Miss Emma gets dragged everywhere!  But I guess that’s what happens when you have a 2 year old to entertain!!! And then there are the tantrums….wow!  We have tried many different discipline tactics:  timeouts, sticker charts and incentives.  Is it normal as a parent to constantly wonder if you are doing the right thing??  I look at my girls and I love them so much and just hope that I am doing what’s best for them and their development as they grow into the amazing people I know they are meant to be.

Here are some of our latest pictures.
